Atlas Orthogonal is a gentle, effective and proven Chiropractic technique that does not utilize physical manipulation. The Atlas is the top vertebrae of the spine and supports the head.
If the spinal vertebrae are misaligned in such a way as to bring pressure and irritation to the nerves which travel through their openings, a condition exists which is referred to as subluxation.

CERVICAL SPINE STRESSED
The above illustration represents a misalignment (subluxation) and is typical of those commonly seen by Dr. Freund. In this example, the weight of the head has shifted and is no longer centered over the spine. The vertebrae are now forced to the side causing a serious structural misalignment.
The resulting distortion and stress of the spine may put pressure on the delicate nerves which pass through it causing pain, organ disfunction, loss of mobility and even the lowering of the body’s natural resistance to illness.

CERVICAL SPINE STRAIGHT
Illustrated above is the proper alignment of the head on the vertebrae. The spinal vertebrae are correctly positioned in relationship to each other, and the path of the spinal nerves is clear and unobstructed permitting natural function and health.
What causes aches and pains in our back, neck, legs, arms, head and joints? What is the source of these problems that can become so detrimental to our quality of life? Why live with pain as so many of us do?
Many of these problems can be associated with the imbalance of the spinal column. The spinal column is a tunnel of interlocking bones called vertebrae that protect the spinal cord. The spinal cord is an extension of the brain, together known as the central nervous system. There are spaces between each vertebra allowing nerves, which are extensions of the spinal cord, to supply and connect every part of the human body. Therefore, it is the nervous system that regulates and affects all body functions.
The nervous system can be likened to a major super highway. Without problems and all vehicles going the speed limit, travel is smooth and without accident. However, if there is a car crash, traffic slows down and even stops. The highway does not function as it was intended.
When the spinal column is misaligned and out of balance, the nervous system is unable to function as it was intended.

Upper Cervical Care
Since many of the nerves which travel through the vertebrae of the cervical spine serve all of the body’s organs, it is obvious how any disruption of these vital impulses by subluxation, may result in serious illness, disability and even early death.
Subluxation of spinal vertebrae may reduce or even block vital nerve impulses from the brain to all parts of the body, including its organs.
Watch Jim McMahon talk about the Atlas Orthogonal Procedure. "They [Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor] keep me from having these bad pain, having suicidal thoughts, having me function fairly normally while I can."
Watch Montel Williams talk about the Atlas Orthogonal procedure. "I had extreme pain in my lower extremities. I'm in pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year... I've had pain in my feet, struggled with my balance..."
WHAT OUR CLIENTS THINK
I began working with Dr. Mark Freund several months ago regarding a case of debilitating TMJ. He uses an innovative technique on the skull, Cranial Suture Release, which has provided me with significant relief. Dr. Mark works in conjunction with Dr. Shapira of Delaney Dental for TMJ cases; together they are relentless in finding a solution for their patients. I have been particularly impressed that both doctors continually seek out further education and knowledge in their respective fields. I cannot recommend their work enough!
Dr. Freund is outstanding. I went to him for help with daily migraines and haven't had one since my Atlas Orthogonal adjustment. He's one of the few doctors in the area trained to do this very precise adjustment of the atlas bone. Not only are my migraines gone, but so is my neck, shoulder, knee, and sciatic pain. That's not even the best part. All of my symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis have quickly disappeared as well. It's amazing what happens when you reconnect your nervous system.
